With Welvie’s help you might decide to try a less invasive treatment. However, if surgery is the decision, Welvie helps you understand what to expect – from pre-operation preparations to recovery. And it’s available to you at no additional cost.
Plus, when you complete Steps 1 through 3 of the program, you’ll receive a $25 Amazon gift card. The gift card offer is available once per member per year.

Welvie shows you how to ask all of the essential questions before you have to make an all-important choice about your medical care.

With Welvie in your corner, you can discover if an alternative treatment will work for you. If surgery is the answer, we can help you get the best outcome.
Step 4: Selecting a hospital is your call. Welvie helps you do it right.
Welvie guides you in selecting the right kind of hospital – they’re not all the same! Welvie will remind you of some key questions to ask the doctors and nurses on your surgical team.
Step 5: OK. Now let’s get this over with.
When the plans have been made, Welvie walks you through the pre-operation details. You can relax a bit knowing you’re well prepared and in good hands.
Step 6: Time to go home and get well.

Welvie is only available to BCBSWNY/BSNENY Commercial and Medicare Advantage members. Members in ASO, FEP, and Medicaid plans currently do not have access to the Welvie tool.
